Steven Wilson Solo album!!!

ah, now that they improved it i actually understand the genious of this masterpiece. :notworthy

The complexity post was a joke, obviously (I hope).

Please don't mock DSO just because of the fact that Philno likes them. They are one of my favorite bands are certainly the best in the Black Metal genre.

I personally love Insurgentes. My favorite track is Get All You Deserve I think. It's eerie and powerful, I love the way it builds.

well my mocking was also a joke, it was just to prove how annoing groundless mocking is. I haven't even heard DSO, i have only heard good things about them, i shall check them out some day.

roadking: if you'd like to talk dso, bring it to the dso thread. as much as you'd like to think it, citing some lyrics from dso doesn't make a point. we both like opeth, and we both know they have some awfully pretentious lyrics. let's not go there, we both know lyrics are the aspect of music the least of interest in this discussion.

Actually, it makes a quite succinct and clear point. The lyrics and thematical elements are what you've endlessly parroted yourself on in EACH and EVERY thread that even mentions Steven Wilson. The POINT made was that if you feel SW's lyrics and thematic concepts are "pretentious" and "cheesy" to the point where you're compelled to troll any and all SW/PT related threads the way you have, and you spooj yourself over DSO, you are a colossal hypocrite!

Don't get me wrong, my intention wasn't to slam DSO, they're actually pretty interesting musically, it was merely to use them to illustrate the... "inconsistencies" in your tolerance for pretense and cheese, both of which can be found in considerable abundance in their own lyrics and thematic concepts.

And since when are lyrics "the aspect of music the least of interest in this discussion"?! Since I started rubbing your nose in your own hypocrisy?! The lyrics and ipod angst are the two topics you've parroted over and over ad nauseum in all your SW/PT thread trolling! Nice try, though.

Problem is you used the wrong DSO... anything pre-CMRS is the same stupid generic satanic BM lyrics. Everything after is very thought provoking and shows the metaphysical theories of God, Satan and mans relationship between the two. The lyrics for DSO are one of their strong points so don't slam them.

I'm not defending either of you. Both of you are acting quite immature IMO.

pretty much agree with philno 100%. everything PT did from TSMS to IA is great, deadwing got boring and foabp was plain unlistenable after a couple of spins. IN MY OPINION steve wilsons done some good stuff with blackfield, not so good stuff with no man and bass communion and its now MY OPINION that insurgentes is one of his projects i will lump in with the latter. i have no idea what they lyrics are saying: i havent made a concerted effort to listen to them as IN MY OPINION the music always comes before anything the artist chooses to say verbally. IN MY OPINION the music simply isn't that good and IN MY OPINION sw has done far more worthy things.

philno's a good member. some people are always going to voice their opinions in a more direct way than others. not saying 'in my opinion' after each post and laughing when people say stupid shit doesnt equate to a troll.

seriously, what are you talking about?
Lurking like a hyena attacking and slaughtering every single thread that mentions SW, telling people how they jump on/suck stevens cock...for what, liking his music? It's not being constructive nor open minded, that if anything by me is considered as trolling.
Him not liking steven was never the fucking problem. I could handle it a while, but after a number of times i got fed up with it.

Biggsy: Being constructive and open minded does not mean you have to repeat IN MY OPINION after every word, wtf?!
