Hey all. I was actually on the opeth forum and no one could answer my question. I won the Euro original Morningrise and it has a round black sticker on the case (Extreme progressive metal from the Swedish gods...). On www.metal-archives.com it says that the first edition has this sticker on it. I was wondering what they ment by "first edition" does it mean all of the candle015 pressings? Or only the very initial pressings of the candle015 version like say the first batch was 500 copies, would they be the only ones with the sticker and all others after that would not have it?

As far as i know, the first edition which was released in 1996 got sold out and for the re-release in 2000 they put the logo on the cover and removed the sticker.
The first press editions are pretty hard to get.

Who cares about original Morningrise CDs when you have one of the original Morningrise vinyls, signed and previously owned by one of the members?

The sticker version isn't really very rare I guess. The first pressing was about 10000 or so I think, and all further pressings up until the point of the re-issue would have had the sticker on too. Hard to say how many copies that would be in total, but it'd be quite a lot. probably as many with the sticker as without I would guess. There would be no difference between early pressings too, as they were made at the same plant in France. I would just phone them and say "2000 more of the same" or whatever.

Thanks Lee! So all of the candle015 Moringrise had the sticker not just the first 10000 copies. I guess the reason why some people said there was no sticker on theirs was becasue it was torn off? Happy new year all!!
