I am finishing one of my last projects in Nuendo 2 before I move on to my new Pro Tools HD setup.

I had another random weird problem while recording drums this weekend.

I will be playing back all the drum tracks and all of the sudden 3/4 through the song sounded like it played a loop which played a few seconds of a cymbol crash and some high hats then repeated the exact same thing again and then was back on track again.

I rebooted to see if it was some sort of memory issue or something but it was definately in the tracks and I had to rerecord the drums for that song again.

And in another song, out of no where towards the end of the song the channel with a ride cymbol seems off like it shifted forward about 3 seconds and is then off time for a bit even though the track is perfectly intact and nothing got dragged around.

I have had these things happen randomly over the last few years.

Anyone experience these things?

This is just another reason why I am so looking forward to going to Pro Tools.

I am workin in Nuendo 6 or 7 days a week - 10 hours a day. I would say, that i did about 50 or more records the last 7 years - all in Nuendo (from V1 to V3). I am pushing my systems hard, working with 100+ tracks on a regular base, heavy editing etc... I never had a single (Nuendo related) glitch. Sorry that i can't help you here - i never had a problem simliar to yours in any way.

Mostr likely it is related to a bad soundinterface driver or a hardware malefunction...?

Good luck with PT,

Interesting.

Another common problem I have is where I will Delete a track and record a new track in its place.

Nuendo will keep playing the old track and I have to close the song project and then reopen it.

Just seems odd you havent had a single issue with it.

I have had problems from N1-N2 with both PC and Mac.

Perhaps it is my 96/52 or maybe you are just lucky.

+1 sorta, I do have an issue occasionally where nuendo (2.2) will put a punch-in underthe original which drives me nuts, I know it's probably some setting I screwed up but I cant figure it out. it only happens occasionally and only on certain tracks

never had it play back a file that wasnt there though, weird.

Last night again I was listening to drum tracks and out of no where at the end of the song a couple drum tracks dont match up and its playing a part that is like 5 seconds ahead in the song.

Nothing was dragged or touched.

And it was permanent.

I had to copy a chorus from the beginning of the song to paste over the freak incident to save the drum take.

I cant explain this shit but it happens.
