I seriously don't know how is it gonna be, I mean yeah Tolki needs some serious help, there has been so much shit going on in that band, I don't have any respect for that guy, I mean Johannson literally pissed on him, then he gets stabbed in Spain and the statements he made about the leaking of the elements album, I remember when somebody brought that up to this forum, I made comments about it, cuz the way he said it wasn't the most proffessional attacking the fans who had the MP3's and stuff, and he actually answered the post, I don't know if any of you guys remember that.
On the other hand, I would defenitely go to a Strato concert, Yeah Timo can be a real dick, but I hope he still plays the guitar as he used to.

Sonata Arctica own Stratovarius. Stratovarius write the WORST ballads i have ever heard. Sonata are much more consistent and already have more albums worth owning that Strato. Sonata are also a better live band.
I really enjoy Kotipelto solo albums better than any Strato stuff. Maybe if Tolkki and Koti collaborate they can come up with some great stuff.

Tony Kakko actually tried to sound like Kotipelto on Ecliptica, but that says nothing about the music itself, the lyrics, and the fact that Kakko ditched that mindset in favor of his own voice and decided to quit trying to strain himself to notes he can't hit strongly...unlike Kotipelto.
Asenine accusations aside, Timo Tolkki is a Yngwie Malmsteen wannabe, and a bad one at that. It's amazing what a studio recording will do to make a half-assed shredder seem only partly half-assed. That guy needs to quit writing solos he can't play live without sloshing them up....

Not necessarily more money, just any money he can get. He said somewhere that he's a part of Stratovarius mainly because it's a well-paying gig, as well as being fun music and getting to see records he participated in go gold, which would never happen if he stuck strictly to his solo work.
Check out the discography on his site sometime...quite an impressive list, and it doesn't even contain a few more albums he's appeared on since he last updated that section of the site (2 years ago).
