Studio Time!

Actually, they do work for smell. They don't block all odors, but they do block many (remember the banana odor test that the NBC guys use to test the mask?). I've used mine quite a few times to filter out my teammates farts in my commo van. I guess my teammates' farts must be tame compared to the people you know!

Banana test? I didnt get one of those...but then again I ETSd from the Army almost 21 years ago!

I used the M17A1 protective mask (or sleeping pillow). I'll bet its improved a lot since then...especially if it can filter out fart smell! :headbang:  :worship:

On the new guitar player...here is a picture of her looking like she will fit right in with Sarah

Studio update for yesterday:as Aja said:

ALL tracks are DONE!! :Smokin: It is sounding really good and that's just the raw tracks! We're taking the weekend off and start with mixing next week! :headbang:

Anyone have any guesses to what songs we have recorded??? :saint: Tommy, you and your walnut brownies are not allowed to play this game this time!!! Hee hee!!!

I think I know which mask you are talking about. Some of the national guard units still use the old masks. The latest stuff (post-Desert Storm) is a nice improvement, but not great. Still, I'm tempted to start wearing mine to concerts because of the smokers.

the songs we recorded we're often referred to as the front or back nine - hehehhe wow golf must be a long game! everything sounds great - i'm really happy with the tones we got :) i'll post some gear pics soon - yay!

here's the amp heads we used: heather played the black washburn thru the randall lynch box - pretty cool idea that randall - you can swap in what ever sound module you want. the one on the very right was a vox that we used for clean parts. i used my mesa with a couple of bob's esps as well as an engle powerball, which is the middle one in the pic below. for solos i used my mesa and vertigo guitar - and everything was miked thru a bogner with vintage 30z. that cab was so heavy it took two to lift!!

That top Engl needs more knobs.
I'll bet you and Heather had a blast with all that stuff to play with.

No, that particular guitar is not Michelle's, though it may be the same type she played at our shows, I'm not sure. I don't even know if it is Heather's guitar or the studio's guitar for that matter!! :loco:

Studio update for the day: 2 songs 90% in the can mixing-wise. We are all REALLY happy with the way it is turning out so far! :kickass: We're really working with some sharp-ears in the production department and I am so proud of the rest of the girls too! They all shine!! :Smokin:

Studio Report: it looks like the mixing is DONE! :D :headbang:

I'm just so excited about this - it was our first experience working with a Grammy award winning producer and it really shows in the work. He and our engineer were an amazing supportive team who worked like a well oiled machine and really drew the best from us - we can't wait for you guys to hear the results!

Oops! But maybe I've said too much! We'll have names, ranks and serial numbers soon... but until then my lips are sealed! :heh:

Are EMGZ standard on those ESP guitarz?Yeah sometimes passive pickup can sound better than active-like the Tony Iommi pick up for instance :D .

not sure, but these emgz were added later. funny thing about the sg - i actually used it for two tracks cuz it intantly sounded great thru my mesa. very punchy and articulate - just turned the gain down abit.

The guitar that Michelle was using in the pics is a Gibson Les Paul, the one in the studio pics is an ESP Les Paul (Eclipse).ESP makes their own version of the SG (Viper)as well.
Fixed. (put the model names in bold and in.. Brackets I think is the word for them...
Yeah, I'm a guitargeek. So sue me.
