Would someone please tell me what straight edge ethics, 12 step philosophy (theology?) Pop psychology and christian family values has to do with rock n' roll, let alone metal?
Øjeblikket said:sure, but if there are themes particular to "troo" metal then metal is just a hand-me-down snotrag.
Vital Remains said:being popular with about .000000001% of the population.
Birkenau said:Nothing, it just gives fans of a scene a feeling of identity and belonging (at least in the case of straight edge).
ACIDBATHER said:Yeah, like that special, warm glowing feeling of self worth and acceptance twelve redline, straight edge pussies out here in Az got when they beat a man in his fifties with brass knuckles until one of his eyes popped out. Btw, that inciddent was instrumental in closing the mason jar-the best metal club in phoenix.nothin' like a bunch of goddamned,D.E.A. Brownshirt cowards to ruin everyone's day.:hotjump:
Cythraul said:oh god the imminent danger of something like that is a good enough reason to eschew just about any sort of unpopular lifestyle. Idiot.
ACIDBATHER said:Yeah, but the point is that it's OUR hand-me-down snotrag! Jesus freaks and weak ass sheeple of all varieties have their own musical anthems that more appropriately fit their
self hating beliefs.

ACIDBATHER said:And just how does one go about turning sobriety into a fucking socio-political movement in the first place-Sheesh!
