SubKick mic tips

Hey fellas i have a project coming in tomorrow morning and im going to pic up a Yamaha SubKick mic. I have never used one, so is there any tips or tricks to using one besides the obvious?

If it's a real subkick, then the output will be really hot on it..

Either use a pad on the desk, or put it into a DI box - and use the pad there.

make your own! It's so so easy! Other engineers have said mine sounds way better than a yamaha one! It cost 10 quid all in all I think!

Oh and mine has a pad on it! Well two resistors, but it means the level is actually useable !!!

one of those probably! One speaker from maplin, some mic cable and two resistors! Wire it up, job done!
