Well, it definitely was hot, but at least not that humid (doesn't really matter when it's 95 degrees--as Paris Hilton would say, "That's hot!")
Minneapolis is a nice city though--we stayed close to Nicolett Mall which is *great* for walking--in fact, it seems like all of downtown is great for pedestrians. Plus there was hardly any traffic (downtown, anyway), even at 8 a.m. on Monday morning.
In Athens you have to be sure you're not about to be run over by someone running a red light. In Minneapolis you have to make sure you don't step in front of a bicycle. Ahhh.
We checked out Brit's (British) Pub on Saturday night, which has this cool flat (bowling) lawn on the roof and apparently sometimes shows movies against the side of the neighboring building (you can lay on the lawn & watch).
The only bad experiences I had were with two waitresses who were less than stellar, and a gruff-looking guy who mumbled at me from across the street that I might get into trouble for taking photographs (on a public street? I don't think so). Our rental car did get hit in the parking garage, but the people at the Hertz counter didn't seem to worry about it too much.
It's a great city for walking, plus there was a two-story Target right around the corner from our hotel. Parking outside of the hotel you're staying in is EXPENSIVE but you can walk/bike/rollerskate everywhere, so who needs to drive?
I also got to check out the raptor center at the University of Minnesota College of Vet Med. I'll see if I can post the pic of the one-eyed bald eagle who looked at me sideways. . .
