Sunburned Hand of Man

Anybody know these guys? They opened for Sonic Youth last night and they were quite interesting. Apparently they are from Mass but their web site is not very informative, except for the very extensive discography (they seem to record 3-4 CDs/CDRs a year...)

They sounded along the lines of Shalabi Effect mixed with Molasse if that is any help..

I got yelled at them once for calling them "Sunburned Hand of Man" instead of "...THE Man", and now I don't know which is right.

Are they hippie-ish, Cerberus Shoal-ish?

improv jam stuff from what I understand with a cult vibe that makes them sought after. my take, from what I've read, is that I would probably not like them.

it is THE Man Alex, I made a mistake.

It is an eleven piece improv jam thing, somewhat post rock at times, at some point in the performance last night it felt like a voodoo ritual... Not very Cerberus Shoal-ish no, from the only CS record that I have it seems that everything they do is based in melody whereas SHOTM is pretty much improv-based.
