Dream Theater did ran a contest back to the days before the release of Train of Thought , The contest was about fans to write their own music with their only clue some papers Mike Portnoy publiced

so im wonder if anyone here has those papers ??

It was just a list of time and tempo changes with some vague riff descriptions for the song Stream of Conciousness, you could try doing a search over at Mike Portnoy's forum.
