Superior Drummer 2.0 crash

I have:
WinXp (sp3)
Sonar 8 (latest version)
Superior Drummer 2.1 (SL-Avatar, The Metal Foundry)
Amd 250 X2 processor(2x3ghz)
4gb ram (800mhz)
TI chipset firewire card (belkin)
Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56

Processor load 15-30%
Disk 0-5%

 The 2.0 troubleshooting thread?

Do you guys know if there is something you need to activate in the player to get the bullet mic working? It isn't automatically on, and I'm not sure if the installation has done a dodgey job or not.

I got it a week or so ago but have been busy with uni and not had the time to read the manual or fully mess with it yet.

Hello Lekteri,i had that problem also.
You need to do the 3GB switch, search the cubase forum for it.
it has to do with memory limitation and nothing with superior.

sounds like you're reaching the per process memory limit of 2gb. try running S2 in jbridge, should allow you to get much closer to 2gb.

cubase runs all plugins in one VSTbridge app, and so all plugins share 2gb of memory (this is a limit of windows, and 32bit processes) you reach that limit, then bad things happen.

windows may be able to access all four gb of RAM, but no amount of hacking will let a single process use more than 2gb.

jbridge runs plugins in an external process, allowing each one to use 2gb of RAM, rather than 2gb for all.

hope this helps.

thanks,
