Superior Drummer 2.0 Test

Hey guys, I recently got SD2.0 and I'm loving it. Here's a test from part of a song I'm working on:

Right now it's just guitar and drums. If anyone likes the band Karnivool, I'm aiming to get a drum sound similar to theirs, especially the "dry but punchy" snare. I'm pretty satisfied with my sound so far. I think my kick could stand to be a little louder though.

Any thoughts?

Pretty good, I hate the S2 kick personally, awful highs. Cymbals are too piercing.

Yeah, I'm definitely not digging the kick much either. I'm probably going to Drumagog it.

Do you think the cymbals are piercing as in they're just plain too loud, or too much high-end EQ? There is a high-shelf of them, I'm not sure if I should back that off or if I should just lower the volume of the overheads.

Try backing off the EQ first, that was what was hurting. They didn't strike me as particularly loud.
