Superstitions?

I can't read Stephen King's Dreamcatcher as long as my father lives. On the first time I read it (it was the toilet scene to be exact) he got paralyzed (from which he recovered partially) and on the second time he had this epileptic seizure (which fortunately was a mild one). The both happened while reading the same part in the book. I'm a fan of coincidences but this one I don't want to test.

I believe in karma, what goes around comes around, all the little coincidences

I've seen many people void of it though but I dont seem to be.

I have to say that I'm such a curious person, I would HAVE TO try it for the third time.

I have no silly superstitions, although I will say I prefer even numbers or what I call "nice" looking numbers (example: 10, 15, 20, 25 etc.) Maybe this isn't a superstition, but more of a pet-peeve.
