Support slots

Could be an interesting thread:

1991: UK tour. At Manchester International 2 they were supported by Hope and Glory, and also Dangerous.

Hope and Glory were typical old style metal, vocalist had a lot of power (Russ North??). They were first on.

Dangerous were a poor rock cover type band, the vocalist could have made it as a proffesional gurner.

None of them really made it big, really...maybe with the exceptions of Loudness and Black Label Society (although both acts are/were never really big outside of Japan and apart from Zakks connection to Ozzy)...Riot and Hughes also never made it to the top, really....

I never usually watch the support bands, and the only two I can remember Vince has already mentioned (Verity/Battleaxe, and Loudness). Lionheart supported Saxon at the Rainbow theatre in 1980. I remember that because it was my first ever gig.

What memories you lot are bringing back.Loudness Tommy Vance used to love them.Kooga brings back memories it just goes to show how little we take notice of the support bands. One support band I do remember is Bon Jovi supporting Kiss I wrote them as a bunch of girls that would go nowhere,oh well I was right about one thing.

Loudness were one of the few support bands I did see, and they were quite good if I remember right. I love that song they did, 'Rock 'n' Roll crazy nights'. Can't remember much else by them though. I think they are still going, or at least they were up until a few years ago.
