Swapping speakers.

I know this has been covered before, but my search turned up nothing, so I'll just ask.

I want to swap my GT12-75 speakers in my 1960 lead cabinet with v30's. Should I get the 8 or 16 Ohm version?

Pretty sure there are 16 ohm speakers in there already, so that's what I'd go for for an easy straigth swap!

if it is wired for 16 ohm then get 16 ohm speakers but if you want 8 ohm's just rewire the cab

You can't rewire a 4x12 cab with 16 ohm speakers to 8 ohms.

The choice is 16 or 4 ohms with a 4x12. If you want an 8 ohm 4x12, you need 8 ohm speakers.
