Symphony X in CHICAGO!!

I spoke with Jax last night. None of these shows have been "confirmed" quite yet. Yes, they will likely happen, but it is a bit premature to be making official announcements. She is going to be contacting the band to get the word so that the promotion frenzy can commence.

I have zero interest in waiting for Jax to confirm anything, which is a morbidly slow process anyway. As far as I'm concerned, the frenzy has already begun, as most people realize that these shows are happening.

Look at it from the other side too, if the record label is allowing venues to advertise the dates, but yet people who work somewhat closely with the band, and their management don't get the info, they can't confirm OR deny anything without hearing it from the band, their management, or the label. It would be nice if there was some kind of unified announcement, but that's not the case, so don't be ragging on Jax, or the webmasters. There have been plenty of instances in the past where clubs have advertised dates that never happened. I don't think that's likely in this case, but take it FWIW....
They're only as good as the info & the communication that's given to them...

Thanks J-Dub! Extremely well-stated.

RR, I believe that they are going to happen too, but I've seen things fall through before (a big one very recently) where clubs were announcing dates (and no, not Jaxx -- they have been extremely conservative for a while now) only to have things fall through at the last minute. I'm not sure where the breakdown is right now, but believe me, I want the official word to come out as quickly as possible. WAY more than you know if you catch my drift... ;)

I believe I do "catch your drift," and certainly extend a good luck to you in those "regards." Well deserved, no doubt. However, the SX forum has become an unsavory place over the past year, for various reasons. I find fault with the mods chastising forum members for pure tour speculation, rather than just tapping the hype for positive publicity...and God knows SX could use some momentum after the layoff.

SX is a band that has my undying support, no matter what, but a forum overhaul may be in order, sorry Dubs...you arent the problem.

For those in the Chicago suburbs looking to buy tickets for the show at the stores listed in the first post, just make a note that the Discount Records location in Midlothian has been closed for two and a half months now. If it was open, I'd still be working there.

Stay metal. Never rust.

Cool. Thanks! I'm sorry, I didn't realize that since I rarely spend time there. I've been on TEOF since 98 or 99 and just never found myself going to the forum as well. Good Lord, between this, other UM forums I frequent, TEOF, and MySpace it gets a bit out of hand!

Same here! Are you kidding me? Dub's middle name is "problem."

I just got Jax's post on the SymX list. Finally! It's been way too long sincy SymX has been to the west coast. I'll being going to both the So. Cal. shows for sure. Can't Wait! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I just got tix for the show at the Pearl Room in Mokena on the 22nd of July.
A little heads up for all you Chicago people who want to go to this. Call the Colosseum.....I got my tix for exactly $25.00, paid NO ticket bastard fees, or taxes. There is an upside and a downside though....upside is that if the show gets cancelled for any reason, paying by credit card means automatic refund (talk to the people there, they will explain more :)), but the downside, if you want to call it that, is that you can only pick up the tix either the day you purchased them, or at will call the day of the show.....
Anyway I'm there plus 2 :headbang: :kickass: :worship:
