But at least this logic continues to support the argument that American Idol has put out some of the best musicians in the last 5 years. And that the Grammy's truly reward talented bands.

That logic doesn't even exist in the debate...neither band writes radio friendly music. Last time l checked prog metal gets no love in mass media.

Admittedly, Pull Me Under wasn't radio friendly but got on the radio anyhow. And that led to a degree of popularity that led to most of the above 100k US sale numbers for their albums. Portnoy says it was a fluke. Symphony X just needs a fluke too.
