I was hoping to start a thread where everyone could post their covers of Symphony X songs!

Soloing is my weakness... I'm practicing though, so I might do something more complete in the future

Very good riffing (and tone). Mistakes aside, it sounds pretty accurate and includes the finer nuances, yet the playing is not too robotic as there's a nice energy and involvement in there. Well done.

Great job on Reign In Madness! Don't kill yourself over the lack of solos, though. I see so many videos where people are all about the solos and play them almost note-for-note, but doing so is quite boring. It lacks creativity and expression, which is what solos are supposed to be about. The rhythm parts are far more important anyway, since without them you simply don't have a song.

That Domination video is quite insane. I wish I had that guy's ability to hit those runs so dead-on; I've always had trouble rolling my hand on those ascending runs. It just seems so unnatural to roll my fingers in that direction for some reason.

Yea, he is an absolute beast. His cover of Divine Wings is fantastic. Best SX covers on Youtube.

Check these guys out, they did a full band cover of Evolution > Death of Balance.

as for the music, they look like kids in a sort of music school. Damn good kids in a damn good music school, indeed!

Check the channel. That's the only full song, but there are cool clips there from The Odyssey, The Relic and Orion The Hunter.

He's an interesting guy, really. I seriously think he has the talent to play with absolutely anyone. It's just a matter of opportunity.
