T-Bone700 Vs 800

Hi there! I need some advice. Me and my band are about to buy a not too expensive mic, and don't know what's the best choice. We're thinking about the T Bone 700, but then saw there's another one, the 800, a little more expensive, and can't find if it's really worthy or not. Someone can help me?

Here you can listen to my band's female singer. This tracks was recorded with TB700/Toneport. This is a voice sample from the same tracks.

I haven't had too much luck with the SCT700 on female voices that sing in that register. It has some little harsh upper mids / highend that doesn't suit these voices very well. It works great on lower male voices and gives them some edge, though. I'd use it for the screams, though.

For female voices of that kind (the clear ones), I'd check out the MXL V69M. It's very creamy at the top end and far from being harsh in any way.
Unfortunately, I never tried the SCT800, so I cannot say anything about it.

And your singer has some obvious sibilance that the SCT700 does not handle very well. It rather emphasizes them, which might not be what you want.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your responses. I guess that, anyway, STC 700 is not a good choice =D

Now I've been reading about it, and MXL V69M seems a really really good choice, and we didn't even know about it, so thank you very much!

If she sings at fairly high volume and you have a preamp without hiss problems, try the T.Bone Ribbon mics!

Thanks a lot for that, though I'm not sure if my preamp has or hasn't got hiss problems. I use a Toneport UX2; would it be enough?

Regards!
