Behind the mist.
People my age (18-25) usually just pass off the 80's as having COMPLETE SHIT for music. Now, this is pretty much entirely accurate. But there was some great stuff going on.

A little bit infected by the whole new-age thing, but still incredible. I mean, that opening riff is pretty much genius I think. Especially with Bill Bruford on the drums.

All killed it in the 80s

^I would rather listen to the hairiest hair metal than any of those bands (except Marillion) mon dieu

the only real band I can think of that was any good is The Cult
of course, Rush was putting out some good stuff. Aside from the obvious stuff from '81 and '82, '89's "Presto" is brilliant
uhm...can't think of anything else

The Cure are right up there next to Nickelback, Disturbed, Godsmack et al as one of the worst bands ever

I sort of can't stand their early goth stuff, but I sincerely pity the fool(s) who could dislike something as sublime as Disintegration

Once in high school, me and Erik held a presentation in front of our class about 80s music. The teacher thought we did well but had expected mention of michael jackson, madonna and such and not being schooled in the glory days of Venom, Bathory and Sodom.

I like to listen to "21st Century Schizoid Man" too, but this song is MINDFUCKINGLY incredible to me.

Unbelievable sound/production on this album. The vocals are just... soul opening.

BTW! Don't you think that the 90s get more shit than the 80s these days? At least in Sweden, I think most people associate the 90s with boybands, eurodisco and Nirvana while the 80s is Mötley Crüe, Iron Maiden and Madonna.

there was NOTHING that was bad in the 80's ... fucking ruled. musician's in all genres were on top of their game.
don't argue with me.
