Well I am going to have to jump on about 95% of your asses here, but it is nothing personal. Who gives a fuck if they had mousse and lipstick or they all looked like Udo on a bad day ? I was 16 years old in 1985 and though not a very mature sixteen, I felt the same way about glam metal as I did about other genres of metal. Some bands were good, some sucked and many were just eehhh.... Due to not being confident in my own tatse and opinoin, I eventually jumped on the "glam sucks" bandwagon because I was getting into heavier and more intricate metal, but I later realized that glam metal was a part of metal and there were some goodbands in that genre and they made some good contributions to metal.
I'm not trying to jump on everyone here that don't share my opinion as everyone has their own toleration level for cheese, but what I am trying to say is that some people tend to have a very selective memory about glam. Glam introduced a lot of people into metal and introduced me to some bands I still listen to today like Skid Row and Cinderella.
If not for glam metal, we probably would have all had to listen to bands like Wang Chung when listening to the radio. It wasn't that bad and the 80's without glam wouldn't have been the 80's.
