What are your favorite tapping parts in metal songs? I'm actually a sucker for tapping riffs and solos. I don't think there is a tapping lick I do not enjoy. My examples:

The intro [0:00-0:48]

[0:22-0:54]

The intro riff again, a fucking classic

One of my all time favorite songs from Maiden. The intro once again.

The intro melody that drags through the entire song

Another well known riff

I don't take up Eruption because everyone knows it. And it's not metal. Still great tho.

So, go on and share some nice tapping with me. I appeal to HamburgerBoy to not mistake it with fapping.

You probably already know, but Tipton and Downing used tapping fairly often from the late 1970s onward. You can hear one of the more famous examples around 1:38 in this video.

I mainly felt like posting about them since their playing was so influential on a lot of other bands.

My favourite Helloween-song on their debut EP and also one of my overall favourite Helloween-songs (I could also have posted it in the guitar solo-topic) - the tapping-part starts at 4:58:
