TDWP - Zombie EP

Wasnt much of a fan of this band before but this ep slays... From the video it looks like real amps used this time around?

I feel like the low end on this is significantly weaker than your other recent releases Joey. Any particular reason for that? I really dig the production otherwise.

i think to get the loudness

(and im pretty sure this one was his first PT release, his other was A Plea For Purging which got sent out to Brian)

Plus just because there are real amps and shit in the video doesn't mean that's what they used on the recordings

edit: i guess i don't know what video you were talking about , i was assuming a music video

I remember seeing that and being impressed with the way that video was done. Never seen a band do those kind of shots in their studio diary before... Looks awesome. Nothing in that video suggests they used amps for this recording though. Pretty sure they only had the 6505 for a soundcheck.

The EP is beyond great.. i mean.. the songs are awesome and the theme is super cool with those effects and stuff but i don't think this is Joey's best work... i mean guitars are not his best. lack of low end, a little bright for my taste, every time i hear it in my PC i need to do a little EQ specially for this EP haha.. drums are OUTSTANDING! i love them!

Same with Miss May I new songs.. Joey, are your trying to experiment new guitars sound?

BTW.. Don't get me wrong! This production sounds great, I'm a Sturgis fan but in this one compared to his other productions that's i can say.

I can honestly say I dont know any other tone that sounds better than the guitars on this EP (that joey has done). This IMO is by far Joey's best work to date. seriously dude whats an album that Joey has done thats better than this one?

Im not usually one to get into the JS debates but I disagree with almost everything you said

sorry, I hope I didnt come off as a dick

(btw, Im stoked to get my comic with the EP. saw some pages from it online and it looks awesome)

Haha i dont mind bro.. this is what this thread is about.. opinions right? as i said i like this production (i cant stop listen it) but i feel it a little weaker than the last tdwp album.. (With roots above and branches below)

maybe im wrong hahha but that's what i think..

Initially, I thought the album sounded weaker. I think it's in the guitars and a different approach to kick on this album. Took me a second to get accustomed to the mix, but I am loving it.

First thing I noticed when I played this was how immense everything was, its by far Joey's best work to date, its fucking loud as shit though. I'd love to hear what it gets to in RMS haha. Love the songs as well, its a very different and interesting direction for it and I love it!
