Team America: World Police

this movie was HILARIOUS. easily the funniest i've seen in the theatre all year!

i keep thinking about what Kim Jong-Il will be thinking when he watches it (because i'm sure he will at some point) and if he'll ban it in his country and shoot anyone he catches watching it or humming the tune for "I'm Ronery".

hahaha, i just saw it today

I thought some of the funniest things were the songs. "TEAM AMERICA....FUCK YEAH!" Another thing was the puppet sex scene.

It was just really weird whenever the movie had serious scenes and all they were doing was making fun of the steriotypical action movie, except they had puppets. It was just odd.

"EVERYONE HAS A.I.D.S.!"

No dude it was "America.... fuck yeah!"

Yeah, I thought the serious scenes were really.. weird and out of place, but the movie still had funny parts.

Sure thing. It was posted on drudgereport so I didn't know if it was real or not, but then it came up on imdb news and some other sites so I guess it could be real... you'd think Sean Penn would have a proofreader or something, though.

SEAN PENN RIPS 'TEAM AMERICA' CREATORS IN ANGRY MEMO

SEAN PENN said:
To Trey Parker and Matt Stone,

I remember a cordial hello when you guys were beginning to be famous guys around Hollywood at some party. I remember several times getting a few giggles out of your humor. I remember not being bothered as you traded on my name among others to appear witty, above it all, and likeable to your crowd. I never mind being of service, in satire and silliness.

I do mind when anybody who doesn't have a child, doesn't have a child at war, or isn't or won't be in harm's way themselves, is encouraging that there's "no shame in not voting" "if you don't know what you're talking about" (Mr. Stone) without mentioning the shame of not knowing what your talking about, and encouraging people to know. You guys are talented young guys but alas, primarily young guys. It's all well to joke about me or whomever you choose. Not so well, to encourage irresponsibility that will ultimately lead to the disembowelment, mutilation, exploitation, and death of innocent people throughout the world. The vote matters to them. No one's ignorance, indcluding a couple of hip cross-dressers, is an excuse.

All best, and a sincere fuck you,

Sean Penn

P.S. Take this as a personal invitation from me to you (you can ask Dennis Miller along for the ride as well) to escort you on a trip, which I took last Christmas. We'll fly to Amman, Jordan and I'll ride with you in a (?) 12 hours through the Sunni Triangle into Fallujah and Baghdad and I'll show you around. When we return, make all the fun you want.

sean penn is a humorless tard. even if i guess i agree with his politics.

also:

without mentioning the shame of not knowing what your talking about,

argh!

i think it was posted on this board, but remember how parker/stone said they actually wanted to do a real, serious action-movie script with puppets, without changing a word, just to show how ridiculous the dialogue/plot was? i think they wanted to remake The Day After Tomorrow pr Armageddon or something.

i about fucking died when Kim Jong-Il's panthers attacked Team America.

They tried to acquire the script for "The Day After Tomorrow" to do their puppet movie and the studio thought that the script was too good to be given away to Trey and Matt for a puppet movie. They thought the script was funny enough not to change a word...

I saw this movie on Saturday with my mother and eleven year old sister as they were visiting Texas for various reasons. Let me say something.. I thought it was great (Orgazmo and Cannibal are two of my favorite comedies so I expected as much) but DO NOT NOT NOT see this movie with your mother and eleven year old sister. As soon as Johnston was going to get in the limo and asked about getting fingered and sucking cock I realized I should have known better.

My mom did think it was pretty damn funny though and my sister is probably no worse off for seeing it.

That being said I'm seeing it again this weekend probably because I am sure I will laugh ten times more with seeing it with my friends.

The desert chase scene was pretty great.

Yea I immediately said "Mom we can leave and go get your money back." but she said nah let's just watch it. My mother is pretty lax on most things... to say I was not sheltered growing up would be putting it lightly. She's an amazing woman though.

And as a future teacher I'd like to say that... well just that I plan on being a future teacher.
