ten minutes until i leave work and go fuckin CAMPIN

since I got a lot of long drives on my trip I'm packing mostly country/folk stuff: Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Louvin Bros., BR549, Tom Paxton, John Prine.

Also: Junior Senior is a must.

i need to check these out.
so metal is not really camping-friendly music?
i'd think skynyrd would be of HIGH IMPORTANCE when camping.
avi, i got some local bluegrass stuff you might dig. i should send you some.

yes yes you should

I recently saw the bluegrass band Big Smith and they were pretty good. I should get something of theirs.

hint: avoid BR5's last record. it blows. the old stuff is great, though.

add: Red Meat

the missus is not too into metal, especially on long road trips. unless you're talking about Maiden or the Scorps. She's loves that stuff.

the bluegrass stuff around here is probably bigger than the metal scene- mail me your aim name and i'll try and catch you online to send you some.

yeah, once i told my gf when we started dating that i played in a metal band. she bought me a couple of those "BAD BOYS OF METAL" compilations with Quiet Riot and Winger. she brought them last time we went camping.

my aim is aviroig

my gf is a bit older and grew up in the mid 80s hard rock/metal scene. it's the music of her teens, not some ironic nostalgia. she can appreciate gorguts, though.
