Tenacious D

What part of "Fuck off" don't you understand?

Probably the part where a guy on an internet forum who is obsessed with System of a Down, Rammstein & Tenacious D told him to do so.

You really need to stop misusing the word genius.

Good thing I'm not misusing it then, huh? Have you even seen the DVD? And I mean the WHOLE DVD?

These threads are tiresome. at best.

Keep bumping this thread, Tenacious D deserve all the attention they get. :)

I 'saw the light' as a mid-teenage kid who listened to that sort of drivvel. I assumed everyone here would be past that phase too.

PS. I still don't see what is so funny about them.

Luckily I'm not one of them. However I seem to have a different taste in music from you.

I don't think "phase" is the right word you should use... I never originally started listening to Tenacious D for their music side, and even still now I never really think of listening to them when I feel like listening to music... I listened to them (mostly live videos) because they made me laugh my ass off, but eventually came to realize the music under can be quite good too... I love them, but it's pretty much a novelty thing I guess you could say in most regards

if you don't "get" the humor, or don't like it, you obviously won't like the band... nothing wrong with that

now that I've read this thread, guess it's time to see what videos I can find on YouTube :D

I will admit, I am obsessed with good music. Guilty as charged.

hatred burns your soul brother, let go of it: it blurrs your vision and makes you see dicks that come across. next thing you know and you discover your hidden homosexual inclination ;)

It's not my sense of humour either really, so nothing about them interests me.

And Bierbommetje: genius is not a word to be used to describe everything you enjoy (especially when you put the word 'pure' infront of it). You used it to describe a track by System of a Down and now you're using it to describe a DVD by 2 fat guys. Listen to some actual genius music or comedic entertainment first. Here's an example of what I mean: Mussorgsky & Beethoven take large craps all over Daron Malakian & Jack Black.

Cool, man. We all have different opinions. Im not denying the genius of Mussorgsky or Beethoven. My opinion of what is genius just differs from your views. It's the reason we can have these nice little things called discussions.

Taking a slightly off-topic sidestep: What do you have against fat people?

Nothing, I just couldnt remember the other guy's name. Is there a problem with me calling them fat? It's what they are, I get called skinny and don't take offense.

Was just asking wheter you had something against fat people, seeing as you felt the need to refer to them as such when it is really irrelevant in relation to the music and/or other content of the DVD in this case. I'm sure this was not your train of thought, but most people I see using the phrase "It is just a DVD by two fat guys" don't mean that in a very positive manner. Some might even interpret it as offensive (not saying I did).

Anyway, have you seen their DVD?

"Spirit of Radio" cover by a band that toured with Tenacious D... Jack Black comes out and sings the second verse, otherwise the vocals pretty much suck

That is actually a bit funny.

I love the part where the camera goes outside of the cabin and you just hear them singing and sounding more like amateurs. Classic.

LMAO, I only once heard an audio version of this (the System cover), this is even better. Kick ass version of Tribute also.

I didn't exactly laugh to the point of involuntary defecation but I was amused. Lots of rock cliche silliness.
