Testament opens up for COB in NYC 12 Aug 2008
A new wrinkle in the ever-evolving CHILDREN OF BODOM U.S. trek has developed as COB has tapped metal veterans Testament as special support for its NYC tour stop on October 9 at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Testament - currently on the road alongside Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell and Motörhead as part of this summer's "Metal Masters" tour - is touring to back its latest studio album, The Formation of of Damnation. The tour's previously-announced opening acts Between the Buried and Me and The Black Dahlia Murder will also appear. The major market CHILDREN OF BODOM's U.S. headlining jaunt is the band's first in support of Blooddrunk and follows the quintet's red hot summer North American "Gigantour" live dates as hand-picked support for heavy music legends Megadeth.

Tickets for the CHILDREN OF BODOM tour dates are on sale now via www.livenation.com. The COB tour will be produced by Live Nation and presented by sponsors ESP Guitars and Hot Topic and tour supporters Guitar World, Metal Kult, Rock House Method and Spinefarm Records.

Yeh.... I wanted Testament... Not that I'm going to go anywhere to see COB during their ongoing tour anyhow, they already did the two shows they did in Finland and I'm not going abroad to see "just" COB. Maby if there were COB, Testament, Slayer+many others I could consider it (like Wacken!!!)

Stone was opening for Testament something like 20 years ago in Boston, Philadelphia and NY.

even if they were asking, they can't just put a band above cob which is the band everyones going to see on the tour and say HAY GUYZ NEW HEADLINER OK WE HAVE SHORT SET KTHNXBI. and for the record i agree testament under normal circumstances shouldn't be opening for cob, no way in hell, but here it makes more sense. everyone who gets to see this show is lucky as fuck though, testament own.
