Testament -- Thrash Metal Kings

Arise and Chaos AD were so similair in sound.

Not to me they dont. Arsie sounds a lot more like Beneath the Remains than it does chaos ad.

How did you choose to draw the line right there?

It was easy, I drew the line when they started sucking.

Nu Metal was about 2-3 years away when Chaos AD was made anyway.

Was it? Wasnt Korn already playing by this time? Im not sure.
Regardless, chaos ad was a departure from the classic Sepultura.

You might be able to convince some old Sepultura fans that Roots was a departure from their deathrash sound - but Chaos AD sure as shit ain't no fucking nu metal album.

Youre right it wasnt exactly "jump da fuck up!" nu-metal, but it was FAR from the sheer speed and thrash brutality of the previous records. This was the beginning of the end of Sepultura and the dawn of SELLOUTURA.

Actually that's very easy. Arise was much more technical than Chaos AD. Besides that Chaos AD was the first album were they started doing these stupid Hard core songs. Chaos AD was the beginning of the end for a truely great thrash band. I still miss them.
