"San Francisco thrash metal legends TESTAMENT will play their classic first two albums — "The Legacy" and "The New Order" — for one night only at Islington Academy in London, England on March 25.

This unique "Metal Hammer Presents..." event will showcase the face-melting albums that kick-started the TESTAMENT story and helped create a monumental legacy that now stretches over 25 years. The set is also set to include a neck-cracking encore that will be drawn from the very best of the rest of the band's back catalog, possibly including cuts from the group's 2008 Metal Hammer Golden Gods "Album Of The Year", "The Formation Of Damnation".

Founding guitarist Eric Peterson spoke exclusively to Metal Hammer about this one-off event: "If anybody's gonna get a special show it's London! They don't say the term 'London Rocks' around the world for nothing! Oi! We will expect all the legions to be present at this show! Heavy futten met-all!"

I found out about this on the Testament forum and wanted to spread the word here. For us Testament fans, this would be an absolute killer of a show! :worship: Here's to hoping they record this for a live DVD! :kickass:

Glad to see the band has faith in their new material.

A lot of older bands have done tours with a focus on older material. It's a bit of a leap to interpret that as a lack of faith in their new material. Especially in this case... where they're apparently only playing a one-off show featuring their first 2 albums. Also, their new album slays, and has been getting largely good reviews in the metal press, so they have little reason not to have faith in it.

What!? It's just a one-off show. IMO, The New Order is as good as Master of Puppets, so it's for sure a classic thrash album. To be honest, I'm as happy to listen to their new one as much as their older stuff. I think this is simply geared toward their long time fans, The Legion, baby! :kickass:

Yeah, if you're into thrash, get the new Testament, a top ten album of '08, absolutely slays as Sumeet put it!

Hmm, flying out there on the Thursday before and coming back the day after, flights are $739.

Too bad they're not doing that in the US :(
