Testament Weekend!!! 3/29 and 3/30!!!

man i wish the independent wasn't 21+, totally bummed. btw also i was reading on blabbermouth that testament are playing a free show on alcatraz this wednesday? does anyone have any link to any info about that?

Today's Wednesday and still no info! Anyone hear anything about the Alcatraz show that was supposed to take place tonight? You would think they would post something on either their website or their myspace page especially since Chuck mentioned it a few times during the show over this last weekend.

it's down stairs ,where the bands play..very clean and nice looking, it very wide but not very deep.. not too big a place-- a split level place, where as there is 4 or so steps up, to get to the bar area straight along the back...It's a good idea to stand there to see the band, if you arent close to the stage..
..but in a prime location in Times Square NYC. you can see the band well from anywhere in the club, and the stage is rather small, the opening bands will probably have thier drumset to the side of the stage, as Testament's drums will be behind and center, and won't leave much room for the usally opening band drumset..

At least that's how it was for Celtic Frost.

p.s.
if anyone is going and planning to drink...beers are about 7 bucks or so.., I rememebr it was expensice for Celtic Frost..it is in Times Square afterall..
Drink beforehand if you can...

I went to Alcatraz with my 4 year old son and a friend. We were at Sunday's show at the Independent. Basically took the day off to support per Chuck's announcement. Ran into the band and talked with Alex for a bit as he was idle for a moment, and another gentleman who's name slips my mind (Andy or Adam??) whom indicated he was basically responsible for the "misinformation" as the park or other issue (possibly liability concerns) led to a cap on the number of "guests". I did not see any fans that were "in", rather, the band's significant others and security + crew.

Basically it was us as far as fans go from what i could tell. There was not going to be a "show", rather lots of pics and video with a "performance" for the video I was informed. We were able to see quite abit of the set in "secured" areas....I guess with my kid, we did not much look like the "regular" fans :kickass: I was even asked by one if I could sneak him in

The scene was pretty busy for the guys and I'm sure there is going to be alot of excellent pics to come out of this. Very important milestone here folks...Alcatraz is a very popular Bay Area attraction with lots of history, and is still pretty secure regarding access. I'm sure this shoot will be very cherished as a favorite without question. The backdrops are gonna be sick....just wish the weather was a bit less cloudy, but on the other side, might make for a "darker" more appropriate setting.

Ya, it was cool....Looking forward to lighthouse pics and cellblock A.
If there was a mini show for camera/fans, it would have been over the top.
Were you there Ms. A?

I jokingly mentioned to (Andy or Adam?) that if i run into him at a show, i'd have to toss him over the wall for that  It was good for a laugh amongst us all.

My kid really wanted to go onstage and sing.... I told him to go ask Chuck :) - ECTME - "Early Childhood Thrash Metal Education"

BBKings is one of the worst places I think to see a metal show. There is a good bar around the block on 8th ave that has cheap beer and is a quick walk to bbkings. Its called Collins Bar or something like that around 48th street if you are walking from 42nd it would be on the left side. I can't wait for the show on sunday though.
