Hey guys,

I'm still demoing these plugs, and I managed to source a chilled out project from a guy on another forum to try them out on today!

From what I gather this track was done mostly live, without a click, and as such you'll hear some timing issues, as well as missed pitching and all that fun stuff that I missed when doing a quick run through Melodyne. I also realize I've probably over-slammed this track by just running a limiter on the back end (it's not mastered or anything), but I think for a quick demo it does the job, and let me sufficiently try the plugs out.

Tell me what you think, I guess! This is the first time I've done a mix of this kind of track.

Cheers!

Vocals are kind of soft at times (in the chorus they're good but could be louder). I realise that making them louder loses the feel, but you can't understand what he's saying. The vocals themselves sound excellent though. They weren't done live, were they? I love the top-end of them. That slight distorted bite - did you use a saturator? Although its a little too bitey on the backing vocals, makes em pop out when they shouldn't.

Overall its quite muddy/tubby, especially the drums. And the OHs have that familiar NT5 hyped top-end that I can't stand. If they're not NT5's I'll eat my words, but I'm 99% sure they are. And the snare has a bit of paperiness, but I think that's from tracking more than mixing.

Can you provide a link for the tracks (by PM if you don't want public), so I can have a go at it? Didn't realise you didn't track it when I posted my above comments, but I still think NT5's were used on OHs, or something similar.
