Texas Murder Fest 2004

The DFW Metalfest, no one knows. It's the first time. I believe that it will
work out.

The MurderFest, should be great. Hell, Kill The Client will be there so at least
there will be drinking fun and smart remarks for all. I actually want to go to this but again, I am lazy and broke.

Sucks ass about the DFWfest, but I don't know why they tried to get it for the same days anyway, tough to get bands when they're already booked for a bigger fest! Really wish I could make this one. Any way good luck Guys, everyone here knows you're gonna kill in Houston no matter how early you have to go on!

:tickled: According to John, the TX fest went really well, and they were happy with the turnout...estimated about 300 people attended, so that isn't half bad...Definitely 100% pathetic to name something like this a "fest," however, in the States we don't know how to throw a real fest...oh well...for now we have to settle for all these "shows" that people like to dub "fests"...hahaha makes me laugh.

night night :)

Looks like Vehemence got off lucky...That's good. I've recently gotten word that a few other bands are pretty fuckin ticked they didn't get paid what they were promised....were begging people to buy merch so they could get home. The Arnolfini Marriage only had $50 to try and drive their van all the way back to Indiana.

Also, Suffo dropped off, others have dropped off. Fuck that bullshit. He's fuckin people over......But like I said, at least if Vehemence got off well that's some good news.

Yeah, sounds like Vehemence ended up doing a lot better then many of the other bands, glad to hear it. Probably because of Road Rage, seems like they've finally good a good booking agency that takes care of them for once!

And it seems like the second day of the MurderFest was worse then the first. Not only did Suffo cancel, but a lot of other bands just didn't show up either, and a lot more didn't get paid what they were supposed too. Plus, the turn out sucked. It's one thing for Suffocation to postpone their tour for whatever reasons, but seems to me to be pretty shitty to cancel a "festival" appearance that practically revolved around them as the headliner without giving enough notice to allow anyone to chance plans or anything. Oh well, just me. Arsis was pretty funny last night, James kept making fun of the Murderfest's turn out and lack of pay hehe. Apparently in Dallas at the tiny little Club Indigo with a late booking and almost no promotion, they still had twice the turn out they did the night before in Houston! Sad.

How many people showed up the first and second day?
Only 300 people showed up the first day,.....He needed an estimated 1,500 to break even and only 300 showed up. Also the second day was cancelled completely due to lack of funds to rent out the house P.A. equipment for the second day.
