TGC Bass question

Hey guys,

Does anybody know how Mendez makes that "twang" like sound in The Grand Conjuration? It happens a lot during the song live, but the first time it happens is right before the "Wield your power, martyr's price..." verse. I know there's distortion on the bass for the "soft" verses, but I don't know how to make that sound.

actually, I'm not sure if Bazz used slap for this one... but he definitly used distortion

popping doesn't have an article on it's own, but it's talked about in that one. but i think he used both techniques in the song.

It's not slapping nor popping. It would be much more defined if it was. He slaps during the solo, though, before the "Whispered conjuration a belief takes form" verses. And he slaps for accenting on the "The eyes of Satan..." parts.

the only time I clearly hear him use these techniques is in Blackwater Park... but then again I see him use it in almost every song on live videos so you may be right

Mendez slapped and popped during the solo, before the "Whispered conjuration" verses. He also slaps for accents in a lot of songs, and he has the slap/pop section in BWP towards the end.
