The 3rd & the Mortal - Memoirs

A different, yet very good album!
I've listened to it damn lot! 3rd rulz!
I think the male vox are great, and I like the variety in style
throughout the album...

Is it weird-arse avant-gard shit like In This Room? I've been curious to hear it (I've got all their other cd's), but I have seen no reviews or press on it, and no way in hell am I gonna order it without getting a decent idea about what to expect. I hated their last one......

It's not that similar to "In This Room", it's basically a trip-hop album. In reviews I saw it being compared to bands like Portishead or Massive Attach and generally to the Bristol scene. I'm not really familiar with the style (I'm trying to check these bands just lately), but from what I've heard the description is rather close.

I think i just have some songs. I haven't listened to it much I must say, but the impression i got is that I prefered their earlier stuff. In any case they 're fucking brilliant! You might want to ckech out the latest CDs from In the Woods as well, really awesome!

I just picked it up last night (Memoirs, that is). Was a bit shocked by the male vocals, and it definately bears comparison to Massive Attack, Portishead or even Bjork.
Nice to have something that the girlfriend will probably be likely to stick in once in a while too.:)
