The Animation Appreciation Thread

8 episodes into X-Men '97 and this show just keeps getting better and better.
They really did the comic book action so much more justice than the original series.
The scene of Nightcrawler and Wolverine fucking up a ton of cyborgs was amazing.
Nightcrawler wielding 3 swords and using his teleportation during combos was insane. It was like a fucking fighting game.

@TechnicalBarbarity you should really give this a shot man. 8 episodes in and I haven't seen any weird pride flag shit yet.

Finished this last night. Pretty good! The (mostly) throwback animation style was a nice touch and I enjoyed the re-imagining of Batman as a detective noir set in the 1940's. It was also cool to see Harley Quinn depicted as a competent villain which seems rare these days.

Can't wait to see The Joker in the next season.

I don't know if I'm just alone in this but, though I'm mostly enjoying the new Terminator Zero anime, the CGI elements look really cheap to me. Especially anything involving vehicles. When you compare it to older anime it just looks so soulless and lazy.

There's a big action scene on a bridge and the car crashes looked like trash. Juxtaposed with the car chase scene in Spriggan (1998) and it's so stark to me:

Finished the final ep of Zack Snyder's Twilight of the Gods this arvo. This scene from the first episode should have you hooked.

So good. The animation was so well done across the whole show, and they set Thor up as such a hateable cunt so immediately that you're really rooting for Sigrid's quest for vengeance lol. They also go overboard (in a cool way) with incorporating all kinds of Norse mythology, so even when there's no action it's still pretty interesting dialogue. Lots of animated dicks too if that's your thing.
