I honestly love the cover of Blackwater park...I think it captures exactly the feel of the music, and I think this is the place Opeth brings you with the music off that album.

I used to think the MY ARMS YOUR HEARSE cover art was nothing special (just trees) until I took a closer look at it and saw the figure in the black cloak standing in front of the lake...

Most Iced Earth covers are insanely good, but this one takes the cake...

Apart from the obvious super produced ones...
I really like the art work on a grind CD by Machetazo. It doesn't look that great until you realise that the shabby black and white photocopier effect is entirely deliberate. Nothing amazing or ground breaking, just very nice lines, definition and layout. A real eye catcher without using and flashy things at all. Something missing in metal these days

Not as crisp as it really is but it shows the layout...

blackwater park is also one of my favs.
