The Cabin in the Woods

Well, that's too bad. Because it really was unlike pretty much any other show which is probably why it was canned so quickly. Well okay, that's not entirely true. It was like "The Han Solo Project" if you know what I mean.

Yeah, seriously Firefly is like an entire series about Han Solo and the Millenium Falcon. The badass shoots-first Han Solo, at that.

Horror seems to go through these cycles. I remember when 'Saw' first came out. There had been so many horror-comedies that it was desperately needed because it was a movie that was genuinely uncomfortable and was all about making you squirm. Then came the whole 'torture porn' thing, and now, we're back with horror-comedies.

So, who's up for some August Underground?

I just saw this last nice and thought the only thing wrong with it is that people expecting horror might not have been expecting so much comedy. For me, it's like... Whedon, Cthulhu, Chris Hemsworth... what's not to love? :)

The meta concepts behind this film are brilliant. Even my mum was able to catch it and she cackled throughout the entire film. (watched it with her last night) Especially when i told her before buying it on On Demand, "This is not your typical horror movie. Its a satire. Just saiyan. Super saiyan." She caught the Shining reference right off the bat. And the Hellraiser one. I was pleased.
