I couldn't have put it better myself. Opeth shouldn't cover any bands, they're way too high quality to lower themselves to that level.

Whoever said Celtic Frost sucks- should be shot I mean cmon the they were the first metal band to try classical- electronica and industrial- female singers- and most of their songs I still love- their atmosphere- and crushing riffs still do it for me. And god, just how many bands owe their sound to celtic frost?

Hey, the Celtic Frost song Opeth covered wasn't half bad...what is it, "Circle of the Tyrant" I think? Though, I never heard the original....I shall one day, hopefully, for comparisons sake...
However, Remember Tomorrow was quite good. I would really like to hear Maiden's "original." Mikael's vocals, as always, never cease to amaze me...I'm sure Maiden's (though it may be good) will possibly disappoint me....

i downloaded maiden's version for comparison sake's..it's pretty good actually cept that perhaps the sound isn't too good and the vocals are a little too high-pitched for my liking
hmmm...maybe the sound isn't too good because it was recorded in 1980?!?!
some of you guys talking about how Opeth are lowering themselves by covering crappy bands need a lesson in Heavy Metal History...IRON MAIDEN and CELTIC FROST are only two of the most influential bands to the metal genre EVER (and BLACK SABBATH too)....

In terms of covers, I think Cradle of Filth is the greatest cover band of all time. Every single one of their covers rock. Maybe they should just get a gig in Vegas doing Slayer sets?

Couldn´t agree more. Lots of people in general - and specially here - certainly need a lesson in heavy metal. I mean, people claiming they never heard Remember Tomorrow with Iron Maiden? And stuff like 'I would really like to hear Maiden's "original."' Common! Have you guys heard anything released before, say, 1995, or what?
