The DoD Cover Revealed

They obviously spent money on the clip, so why not this? I don't understand why they are being tightarses on the album cover.
I still reckon this is a gee-up, and probably a week before the album hits the shelves, they'll release the real artwork which will be really good, and in comparison with this one, we'll all be like....WOW!!!
I still can't imagine Steve Harris saying - "this is our album cover". It has to be some sort of way of having a laugh at the expense of the idiots on the official IM BB who spend all day slagging' everthing the band does.

Prisoner, it would be cool if that was true, but stop kidding yourself, Maiden have fucked up with this one.
Here is someone's thought's on what the concept behind the artwork could be. Not too far from what I was thinking, but I was so gob-smacked when I saw the artwork (if it can be called that) I could think of how to put it into words.
"I like the concept and I could think of some sort of explanation for the CGI that of course look like "mannequins" or "plastic" or "fake people"....in fact Eddie is the only one that looks kinda "real" isn't that telling you something? maybe this (i know it's crazy!): the world now is kind of a dancing floor, full of "fake and/or plastic people" and the only reality is Death all around us...."

Well I won't believe it's real cover art until I have the CD in my hands on September 8.
I guess if that is the real artwork, Maiden are going to have a hard time selling t-shirts and posters etc for DoD stuff. I wont be buying anything with that 'stuff' on it, except for the CD.

That explanation sounds kinda cool, but it doesn't make it look any better.
Why would Maiden make them selves look bad, simply to surprise fans a couple of weeks later with the real cover? They would probably have turned some fans off by showing this piece of shit.

You're right Blitzkrieg. No matter which way anyone tries to justify it, be it the real deal or a joke, it's all fucked up.
I guess I am clutching at straws. I just don't understand. The music is the MOST important thing, but the Iron Maiden covers were always something cool, tough looking, something you'd want to show off to yer' mates etc....but this....??? It's embarrassing.

I don't think the Metallica one was actually shit quality though like thise one, and even though I like it I can understand other not liking it, but it is just the sheer lack of quality of the Maiden one that is fucked.
