I guess what I'm trying to say could've been summed up much more succinctly (as usual). In lesser words, if people want to remain willfully ignorant of what's around them, then they must make a sacrifice. I look at it like, "Hey, if you wanna live in your own bubble and ignore the rest of the world, that's perfectly fine because that's your business. However, your vote will not count unless you can prove to us that you at least have a fundamental knowledge of what's going on in the US and around the globe today. Your willful ignorance will not have any impact on the rest of the world whatsoever."
As it stands now, too many people who shouldn't be anywhere near a voting booth are allowed to vote...this goes for all parties.
