is it supposed to be so abrupt? I'm listening to Still Life for the first time and wondering if I bought a flawed copy.

Yeah... they realized the problems when they released the album, and gave three years for you to contact Peaceville to get a replacement copy, they figured the first pressing would all have been sold by then...

Deadline to get your replacement was Dec 21, 2002...

i had bought three of the damn things, too: one for myself, and two for my friends. so i had to replace all of 'em, and it took a damn long time.

i'm glad i did, though: that last guitar bit is orgasmic...

yeah, that sounded kind of fishy.. that's todays date (well technically yesterday)

so is this part of the song, or a defect?

I'm pretty sure they ment to do it... though it would have sounded better if, when it stopped early, it went RIGHT into White Cluster to kind of catch you of gard. Sounds a little silly when it is cut short and thier is just silence for a little while.

hmm.. yeah, that's why I thought it might be a manufacturing fuckup (like with the first pressing of Damage Done)

Mike said that was intentional... I remember he said he didn't like that the songs all kept fading out, and he wanted to do it to give the listener the same feeling of loss as the narrator. It works every time...

I can't remember the end of that song! The only thing I remember about that song is the dodgy bit when Mikael sings the title in a weird, stilted portion of the song.....sounds like he's trying to put some groove into the vocals or something....but it sortof....fails....miserably....

There's not much that's right in the world anymore SkullFucker. Oh SkullFucker SkullFucker SkullFucker. :( Opeth is just a little of what we have left.....let us embrace it.
