IRON MAIDEN ANNOUNCE NEW STUDIO ALBUM "THE FINAL FRONTIER"
AND NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

IRON MAIDEN are pleased to announce that their forthcoming new studio album will be called 'THE FINAL FRONTIER', and is expected be released late summer of this year.

The announcement comes with news of a North American Tour with Very Special Guests Dream Theater to open in Dallas, Texas, on 9th June and finish in Washington D.C. on 20th July, making it Maiden's most extensive North American tour in many years.

Following these shows in USA and Canada The Final Frontier World Tour will travel back to Europe for a few selected major festival and stadium shows with the band planning to continue to many other countries in 2011 (full currently confirmed dates below).

The full Live Nation North America press release for the North American Tour is posted here.

An exclusive pre-sale allowing members of the IRON MAIDEN fan club first access to tickets to the North American Maiden Shows will be made available two days prior to them being available to the public.

Tickets for the Canadian shows will go on sale to the public on Saturday 13th March at 10am PST (10am EST for Toronto and 12 noon EST Montreal).
Exclusive first access to the tickets will be available to IM fan club members on Wednesday 10th March at 10am PST through to Thursday 11th March at 6pm PST (EST for Toronto).
Regretfully due to technical reasons an exclusive Pre-Sale in Montreal is not possible.

Exclusive first access to the tickets will be available to IM fan club members on Wednesday 17th March at 10am EST through to Thursday 18th March at 6pm EST

Haha Holy shit! I'd almost go to the US to see this tour. Shame I can't. :(

I reckon this will be their last album. I'd like to see them go out in style, rather than just hanging around for another decade just because they can.

Seriously thinking about a trip to New York for this.
I loved the SBIT tour but id love to hear a more modern setlist too.
And dream theater too!!

Blitzy. you have done a bit of travel.. How much do reckon it would cost in airfares and accom for maybe a week and a half?

When they start a tour it's usually a week or two before the album comes out... right? I'm just going by NOTB here. I can't be bothered checking every other tour.

I think July some time for the album. And as soon as I saw the album name I just knew people would start speculating on whether or not they would be calling it quits afterwards (or at least not recording albums anymore).

I think this will be the last studio album, or at least that is what they are thinking, as they have mentioned a few times over the last few years that they never planned going past 15 studio albums.

I suspect they will do further legs of this tour once the album is out, which may reach back downunder. After that, and another break, they will do a third nostalgia tour, then either hang up the boots or decide where to go from there.

I was considering going to Wacken this year to make sure I see them again while I can. I really need to think about things now. Would love to see them touring on a new album. Maybe I will hang out for a proper UK tour announcement though...I am sure they will do one.

Week or so in New York, I would say no less than three and a half K. Doing it on the cheap.

I wonder if they keep touring if they do indeed only do one more album. Would hate to see them become the nostalgia act they've always criticised others of being.

My money's on it being out in August, but then again would american fans put up with 22 dates supporting an album they haven't heard? So it could be 'early summer'. Who knows :)

June/July release for sure, would be an awesome tour to see with DT, as for last album, I will believe it when I see it, I don't think Steve or any of the others could actually 'retire'. But would it mean more awesome Bruce solo albums?

I think apart from Bruce and Adrian, the others would quite happily hang up their boots, although I get the feeling H wouldn't do anything without prodding from someone anyway... Dave and Janick just seem happy to do whatever happens, while Nicko would happily spend the rest of his days playing golf I think :)

I don't think they will endlessly tour with greatest hits sets or anything, but I do think they will do at least one more of the 'period' type things they have done with 'The Early Days' and 'Caught Somewhere Back In Time'.

Also, I think they have always hinted at not turning into a nostalgia act to let people know that when they are done, they will be done, and not to expect them to keep flogging it off.

I agree with Mark, I think most of them would be happy to walk away from it. Even Bruce has other things going on these days so he might not get back into a solo career, at least right away or full time anyway.

Also, Steve is the one that made the '15 albums' call a few times, so maybe he has a plan of something he might like to do post Maiden or something?
