I feel this way about Blaze Bayley singing Bruce-era songs, even though I have all of his solo albums and have seen him live 3 times with his band. Come to think of it I have never even heard Virtual XI or X Factor all of the way through. Bizarre, I know.
But don't be scared. A lot of the bad reviews are a mix of genuine problems and a lot of people who are pissed off they haven't repeated whichever '80s Maiden album happens to be their favourite.
