"the forgotten" or "the village"

And now were faced with even worse movies, the Video game movie, could things get any worse??

I actually have very high hopes for the Silent Hill movie. Team Silent worked very closely with the movie makers...it is the same art director as the game, the same composer as the game...the trailer looks, sounds, feels exactly like silent hill, and they're following the story almost verbatim with the first game (except instead of a male lead its a female). At its best it will be a very good horror film, at its worst, it will be a very good fan service film, so its win/win for me :D

I thought "The Village" was SO bad that I ended up watching the entire thing in fast forward mode and STILL understood the story and punchline.

I might be alone, but I absolutely loved DOOM. OK The Rock was horrible (in fact alot of the characters were pretty bad) as he always is, but Karl Urban was so good and come on! Who can argue about that first person shooter scene! That was my favourite thing about it, I wish they did an entire movie like that.

I actually didnt mind the American version of The Grudge (despite Sarah Michelle Gellar as lead), far more so than the Japanese version, and I usually prefer the Japanese versions.

Along the lines of Sci-Fi, but more adventure/sci fi I'd recommend Serenity! Bloody awesome movie! I cant rave enough about it. Joss Whedon is a god!

Yeah, i'll jump on both "The Village Sucked" and "Saw Ruled" bandwagons here. nuff said.

Did anyone see they are remaking the omen? Seems like a crime against humanity so heinous that whoever is doing this should be shot/put in prison.

I can't believe you :) I really can't understand how you say "Village sucked". Cause it had its place in my all time favorites.

And about "sci-fi", both Village and Missing are not sci-fi at all. I didn't see Serenity, but i'll look into it. Sci-fi is not so popular where i live, so i have to content with what i i get. I used to watch Star Gate (the series), but it is off air now. And it will never be again for sure. You can watch lots of turkish made soap operas here similar to "Lords and Ladies" (as seen on Max Payne ;) ) I hate them all.

My beloved X-Files is in its 7th season, and it is on a quality channel so i think i will see the end of it :)

And i am a big fan of Star Trek, but i am stuck somewhere around DS 9. "Next Generation" was great. I've seen a few episodes of "Enterprise" and i didn't like it.

**** SPOILER FOR THE FILM "SAW" *****

I also think Saw has a major goof in it. How two men can't see a man breathing in front of them and think that he is dead.

mabie they didnt bother to look since his brains were splattered all over the floor and in a giant pool of blood. Plus you can breath so shallow that it doesnt look like your breathing at all.

Go see both. Both movies suck just as much ass as the other, but nothing's stopping you from making fun of the movie in the middle... Unless you're the kind of person that doesnt do that.

When I saw The Village, my friends and I actually did that. We probably annoyed the whole theater because we'd cut up laughing in the middle of the "serious" or "scary" parts, especially when the creatures showed up, and we generally made fun of it all the way through.

As for The Forgotten, I don't think I'd rent it, but I didn't feel like I regretted seeing it that time.

I really like Steven Spielberg's "War of the Worlds". It is one of his clean "sci-fi"s up to date i.m.o. And not to forget Jurassic Park of course. It was also good.

Forgotten is crap, i agree. But i will be waiting for the one who will say "Village is amazing" :) Cause it is.

Man, don't bother with Serenity either. Give any movie a spaceship and it automatically gets labeled Sci Fi.

IMO the absolute best scifi movie is Enemy Mine. But I do have high hopes for Ender's Game.

Oh, and right now my favorite Star Trek: The Next Generation episode is on. The one where Piccard lives a lifetime in 15 minutes due to an ancient alien probe.

TNG is the best out of all Star Trek shows. Even though Star Trek isn't as good as Star Wars (the old ones, of course :D)
Look, I even made an X-Wing out of Origami!

regardless, it is a damn fine movie.. great acting with a stellar cast and great typical joss whedon humour packed all the way through.

If you havent seen Saw yet and dont want it to be ruined for you, then DO NOT read on..

I saw that movie with my then-bf and he promised I was NOT going to be able to guess who jigsaw was until the very end. Not 2 minutes into the movie I see the 'dead' guy on the floor and I'm like.. Its him isnt it! I figured that movies like to pick the least likely person as the villain to put audiences off right.. who would be even more least likely than a dead guy. I was so chuffed with myself when I turned out to be right.

Oh no :tickled: :tickled: :tickled: How did i do such a mistake. It is obvious that i can neither talk nor write in english :)

I will correct it now

I liked The Village quite a lot, and it's not a horror movie, more of a Drama/Mystery film. I thought the concept of the whole thing was great, the setting and the people were interesting.
