The Friday Five

It's friday? Jesus... ok.

1. Did you get an allowance as a kid, and if so, how much was it?
I think so. I don't think it was much though, maybe 5 bucks a week once we turned 10 or something. My parents were always good at making sure we had some scratch if we really needed it.

2. How old were you when you had your first job, and what was it?
16? 17? It was working in the storage room of a medical office. Lots of filing.

3. Which do you do better: save money or spend money?
I can't save for shit, so when I'm unemployed, I'm pretty much fucked.

4. Are people more likely to borrow money from you, or are you more likely to borrow from them?
Me borrow from them.

5. What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought?
Uh....jesus. I can't save for shit, so I've never bought anything particularly expensive. Hell, even my basses and guitars and amps were all gifts. So I have no idea.

5) Probably a guitar or some effects pedals etc.

1. Did you get an allowance as a kid, and if so, how much was it?

Not really...I did my share around the house and when I needed money for something, my parents would help out.

2. How old were you when you had your first job, and what was it?

My parents wouldn't let me get a job until I turned 16...so I started at pizza hut the day after my 16th birthday.

3. Which do you do better: save money or spend money?

Depends...I'm really good at saving to an extent, but there are certain things I have no regrets about splurging on from time to time.

4. Are people more likely to borrow money from you, or are you more likely to borrow from them?

People always loan me money when I ask, because they know I'll pay it back. I've never been asked for a *big* loan...but depending on the person, I would have no problem helping them out

5. What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought?

My college education. Other than that, my Jem (which was 6 times more expensive than my car:lol:)

1. Did you get an allowance as a kid, and if so, how much was it?
Yep..I got 50 cents a week. Lame, but my parents always gave us money if we needed it to go to the movies or the like, so it wasn't bad.
2. How old were you when you had your first job, and what was it?
I was 17 & I worked at a small clothing store.
3. Which do you do better: save money or spend money?
I can do both when I need to..probably better at spending it though, I can always think of something I'd like to buy *g*.

4. Borrow from me, I'd help out whenever I can
5. A high-end pc, I needed it mainly for making music

What do you guys consider "borrowing?" To me, it doesn't have to be money explicitly. I have a tendency to pay for stuff for other people as long as they reciprocate, e.g. paying for someone else's lunch and they'll pay for something later on down the line. Otherwise, no one has ever come up to me to ask for ten bucks or whatever.

1. Yup, started at $1 and went up to $5.
2. 19, and I did data entry for my uncle's dealer finance department at a local bank.
3. Save.
4. Borrow from me, but that doesn't really happen.
5. My graduate education. I'll be in the hole for a LONG time for that. :erk:

4. Are people more likely to borrow money from you, or are you more likely to borrow from them?
5. What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought?

1. Not really. From time to time I got some money but not on a regular basis. I really had no use for it until later.
2. I was probably 15 or 16. I waxed fire engines and did all kinds of fire security related stuff within a big factory area (e.g. switching the fire extinguishers for maintenance etc)
3. Spend. Money is not in trouble, hence no need to save it.
4. People borrow from me and I might borrow from my parents if on a tight budget.
5. My guitar (approx. 700 euros) probably. Can be something else too.

1. Did you get an allowance as a kid, and if so, how much was it?
Not really, I had to earn my dough

2. How old were you when you had your first job, and what was it?
12, delivering newspapers

3. Which do you do better: save money or spend money?
I have a weird relationship with money - the more money I've got coming in, the less I tend to spend, whereas the less money I have, I think 'Sod it, I'm broke anyway so I might as well spend the little I do have'

4. Are people more likely to borrow money from you, or are you more likely to borrow from them?
Neither

5. What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought?
University degree I guess, then my first car for 2500 pounds - it turned out to be a piece of crap so since then I've bought shitty old cars and driven them into the ground - I'm low-maintenance now... :p

It's all about the animals :)

2. How did you choose their names?
3. What was your first pet & how old were you then?
4. What's the most animals you've had living in your home at one time?
5. What exotic animal would you want for a pet if you could choose any one?

5. What exotic animal would you want for a pet if you could choose any one?

1) Yes. A black and white lab mix named Cow. A black and white cat named Marlon, an Orange cat named Simon and a little black and white kitten yet to be named. Some Beta Fish and a 15 year old, recently deceased Leopard Gecko named Lizzy.

2) I named Cow and Marlon. The dog looks like a cow and Marlon is/was fat and had an under bite look - like Marlon Brando. Simon is a stupid ass name for a cat, I didn't name him. Nor will I probably name the kitten.

3) First pet was a cat named Lucy when I was only a few years old.

4) 3 cats and a dog + some fish.

5) A Spider Monkey

1. What pets do you have, if any? And what are their names?

2 cats just over a year old. Their names are Calvin and Hobbes.

2. How did you choose their names?

We got them both at the same time (not from the same litter though) and wanted "pair" names for them. I'm a big Calvin and Hobbes fan, as are my parents, so they agreed when I suggested them

3. What was your first pet & how old were you then?

My first pet was my my grandparents' husky-malamute mix named Demon (we lived with my grandparents when I was first born) or my cat Gizmo when I was 4-ish. Demon was the shit whereas Gizmo was a little shit.

4. What's the most animals you've had living in your home at one time?

Not including smaller things like fish, just two.

5. What exotic animal would you want for a pet if you could choose any one

None really.

1. What pets do you have, if any? And what are their names?
Golden Retriever, Lucky
2. How did you choose their names?
Born March 17.
3. What was your first pet & how old were you then?
See above. Probably 12.
4. What's the most animals you've had living in your home at one time?
One.
5. What exotic animal would you want for a pet if you could choose any one?
Predator.
