The Gaping Flaws of Recent Concert Stage Design

Have you guys seen all of the stage collapses that have happened this past year? I work in the structural engineering field and find it appalling that these stages are collapsing so much this year. I know the weather was really bad for all of the events, but I just don't understand how they let this happen. There are standards in place to prevent this from happening.

In case you don't know, 3 stages have collapsed this year, killing dozens and injuring far more.

What do you guys think of the events? Do you think they could have been prevented?

I don't know much about stage building, but I know that budgets for touring acts are tight, and I'm sure cutting corners to save a few bucks has something to do with it.

I'm guessing that's the issue too, but good design should be able to better prevent this from happening. Obviously something has to give.
