It's safe and wealthy because it has strict immigration policy (as in, people coming to live, not work), as in, they make sure they're racially homogeneous to avoid any possibility of outside cultural norms being imported and messing with their corporatist/police state values.
They're illiberal and often being illiberal means your country remains stable.
How many Asian countries even take in refugees for example?
Japan makes it almost impossible to be a Muslim in their country.

Where did I say anything about crime? I said strict immigration policy means you can avoid bringing in people who potentially have no respect for the culture, of course Singapore is a bad example for me as it's quite different to most Asian nations.
Though it is definitely a place that is safe, but personal freedom takes a hit for that safety. That's definitely a typical Asian state characteristic.
Lest we forget.
BTW I've been to Singapore, it has quite a multicultural feel with Asians, Malays, Indians, and Caucasians all living in harmony.
