I agree. What they did on Blackwater Park with the ebow sounded great and was unique. What they have going on now just frees up a guitar to do stupid chug riffs.

The ambient keys are just fine and dandy and to say that they are using them merely to conform is presumptuous. Doesn't every band display a measure of conformity, anyway?

Hiring a keyboardist is proof that they'd rather be more like their proggy contemporaries than forging their own musical path.

Per's keys add a brilliant atmosphere. The proggy path they are headed towards is a great choice by Mikael. Personally Id rather see them do that.
