I'm not sure if this hasn't been brought up before, so I figured I'll ask...

What do the lyrics to White Cluster actually mean ? As I understand the concept, Melinda was killed and the hero of the story was beaten in a struggle and captured (Serenity Painted Death). In White Cluster it gets confusing. As I suspect, he is hanged by the end of the song (a hangman is mentioned at least; murmur through the crowd). The line :

"Plunging into anywhere but here"

What does it mean ? Do the four last lines describe some after-death experience ? And most important, the last two lines :

"And the last sight I did see is still here
Beckoning right behind me"

Does Mikael try to describe death as the last frame of your life extended to infinity ? That would also fit in with the album title "Still Life"... but "beckoning right behind me" - is it behind in time or was it somebody unexpected that he saw in the last moment of his life ?

Did Mikael explain this in any of the interviews (maybe Jim from LotFP knows ?) Anyway, everybody, what do you think ? How would you explain "White Cluster" ?
