The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe

I'd like fellowship more, but my favouritestestnessest character ever made (Tom Bombadil) got jewed out of a role. So it's forever marred.

No fucking shit. When that movie ended, I wondered if I fell asleep and missed the Bombadil part.

including The Mouth of Sauron (in the extended version) made up for missing Glorfindel and Bombadil, even if what happened to him was not like the books. if you haven't seen it, you are, quite simply, GAY AND LYING. yes i own all the extended super fun happy editions of LotR, and even the über l33t statue editions. [/not gay][/not lying]

i liked Two Towers best of the books, and Fellowship best of the movies, although it's like those are 1. place and the rest are 1.000000000001 place.

No, book 2 is Lion Witch Wardrobe.

OK here goes:

1 - The Magician's Nephew
2 - Lion, Witch, Wardrobe
3 - The Boy and His Horse
4 - Prince Caspian
5 - Voyage of the Dawn Treader
6 - Silver Chair
7 - Final Battle

Most people skip 1 and start at 2....

I thought it was "The Horse and His Boy"... :p

Yeah, nads, that was the "old" way of ordering them (my old ass collection has the same order).

I too remember Lion, Witch being the "first" book, whether or not I received them in the proper order remains to be seen.

So after having read "The Horse and his Pimp" and "Queen Caspian", I can safely say:

Lion Witch Wardrobe >>>>>>> those two

So much so that I can't even read any more CS Lewis for a while. I'm keen to see what happens, but meh, I think I'll read Dune instead.

yeah this book wasn't nearly as cool as it used to be. go read Harry Potter. seriously, that series is tits. and of course Dune rules too, although the political side drags on a bit sometimes.

i'll prolly read the CS Lweis series some time. a dude at work is a Potter nerd and s begging me to read those books.

the original 6 Dune books are great. let me break it down for you:

originals:

Dune - classic.
Dune Messiah - very short and semi-boring. lots of politics with lots of action towards the end
Children of Dune - pretty damn good with lots of action
God Emperor of Dune - the worst of the series. all talk, very little action
Heretics of Dune - second best in the series. a grand epic
Chapterhouse: Dune - a continuation of Heretics and just as good

The original six are basically about a government, politics, and religion with action. The original book can actually be seen as a metaphor for the current governments (planets) trying to gain control of oil (spice).

The six prequels from Herbert's son read more like move scripts, and while very entertaining, don't have near the depth and heart of the originals.

is it necessary to read them in order? i'll probably read another one eventually, not sure if i want to invest in the entire series though.

i need to pick up Asimov's Foundation series, i really dug the Robot series.

BRAND NEW TEENAGE BANDWAGON FUCKING AWESOMEEEEE

I can't wait to fucking hear about this all day from every retard in my school. Don't get me wrong, like the movie if you actually enjoy it, but fuck all of the rest. Holy shit, seriously.

Fuck.
